Guided Treks This alpine region of mountains, scenic high country and clear braided mountain rivers and streams offer hunters, fishermen, photographers and trekkers an ideal opportunity to experience pristine New Zealand wilderness. Our tailor-made packages offer something very special for visitors of every ability. With a lifetime local knowledge of the region and over 35 years of hunting experience, John can guide you on a truly memorable trip. From a gentle day trek with a picnic by a lake shore to a more challenging day of free chase hunting for either chamois or red deer... for photographic opportunity or trophy. Access to the high country is by 4WD or helicopter and on foot. Our packages include accommodation, breakfast, lunch, guiding fees, equipment and transport (helicopter quoted separately).   Hunting and Fishing In New Zealand the hunting season is all year with spring and autumn the best for red deer while chamois bucks display their best coat between April and July. If fishing is your passion we are able to arrange a day of fly or spinning for brown trout or salmon with local guides, in one of our world class high country rivers. Our fishing season for brown trout runs in the high country from October - April and the salmon season from November - April.
