With its beautiful backdrop of mountains and forest Hanmer Springs is the ideal place for a romantic wedding or special occasion function.

The mature gardens at Rippinvale are a spectacular setting for wedding photography with uninterrupted alpine views. Rippinvale Retreat will be available as a venue for such occasions from December 2006.

Mainly targeted towards intimate weddings and occasions, the grounds are ideal for that special outdoor ceremony. Whilst we do not cater for these functions ourselves, there are a number of Christchurch and Hanmer Springs caterers who are able to do so. Alternatively a wedding breakfast can be arranged at a restaurant or hotel in the village.

Two suites are available for dressing and pampering with beauty therapists/makeup artists and hairdressers on call in Hanmer Springs. Rippinvale works closely with" Beauty Works" Hanmer Springs who are specialists in wedding makeup and other treatments to pamper the bride and her party.

For wedding guests Hanmer Springs offers a good range of accommodation, from motels to holiday houses.

Being alpine, the weather is at its most settled in the months of December through to March and, of course, the garden is at its very best from December to February.
